Frontline Capability Map (FROCAMAP)

Talent management does not happen on Spreadsheets and Apps, it happens on the frontlines, during the daily grinds and interactions amongst employees and their supervisors!

In 2018, Allaboard coined the term ‘Frontline Advantage’ to clarify and explain how organizations that invest in developing talent management capabilities in their key line stakeholders, will outperform those that do not. This is largely driven by the realization that the talent agenda is to too strategic to leave it in the hands of HR alone. In our experience, the identification of all key stakeholders to the talent management program, and their capacitation and empowerment, is a critical enabler for delivering a truly world class talent management program. Building a truly strategic and sustainable frontline advantage starts with acknowledging that the war for business is won or lost at the frontlines and not always necessarily in the boardroom. Hence, the frontline advantage is an acknowledgement of the imperative to pivot execution excellence around managers and other stakeholders that partner HR in managing talent on an everyday basis. In operationalizing this concept, iTMA has developed a simple framework and approach to map enterprise-wide capabilities for managing talent, identify key stakeholder players who require those capabilities, and program their specific talent management capability needs, based on the role that each stakeholder segment is expected to play in the collaborative drive to deliver the broader talent agenda.

The Frontline Capability Mapping Tool (FROCAMAP) comes with a turnkey readiness assessment framework that can be used to inform program focus, specify program objectives, and curate program content, when developing stakeholder players to the talent management programs. Whilst we can, through FROCAMAP, help you identify enterprise capability needs, you also have an option of being taken through the Talent Management Training Of Trainers (TOT), a program that develops in-house training capacity so that actual talent management capability building can be facilitated internally.
